i had the honor of shooting john and emily back in january for my first wedding in 2009!! it was a perfect day, sunshining (though it was in the 30s), and full of smiles! they were married in downtown indianapolis at Saint Mary Catholic Church. After the wedding we cruised around to different location throughout the city for shots and ended up at the fabulous Omni Hotel!

So you're getting married! Congratulations, now take a deep
breath...it's time to design one of the most important days of your
life...take another breath. This tips page will give you ideas, hints,
and answer your questions about planning your wedding! It's time to get
creative, and most importantly, enjoy every minute of planning your
wedding! It will be here faster than you think...(another breath)
Where to begin...
Choosing a color palette!
You've looked at designs from your friends' weddings. You've bought
countless magazines. You've googled wedding reception designs about
10,000 times. I've been there. I think I changed the colors of my
wedding about 15 times. No kidding. So here are a couple of questions
to ask yourself when choosing colors.
1.) What time of year is it? If it's fall, then go more orange and brown hues. If it's spring, pastels, etc.
2.) Do you want a glamorous affair, a modern party, a simple reception?
This question is probably the most important. If you are wanting a big
glamorous party, I would say go with bold colors--blacks, dark purples,
shinier fabrics, sparkly embellishments. If it's modern feel, then
include browns, blues, whites. A simple reception--whites and creams,
light colors, matted linens.
3.) What is your favorite color?
4.) Do you want patterns?
If you answer these questions, you will have a better idea of a color
palette.
Happy Designing!
