since portland and my trip to missouri life has amazingly seemed to move a little slower. and i must say i've enjoyed it immensly. tastes are sweeter, music has been more enlightened, the weather feels a bit crisper, and my mind isn't jumping hurdles with every step.
with that, i have been doing some reflection, also reading, writing, a bit of art here and there (non-work related which is much needed) and diving into a few new studies. in one recent amazing find, i came across a stop motion piece by oren lavie..... being that i love creating stop motion photography myself as well as seeing other artists who are intrigued by projects similar, this one took my breath away. its a number of things from the piece that seemed to create this feeling....
the music
the model
the story
the dream state feeling
the lighting
the white sheets
the creation of the piece is mesmerizing but simple and humble at the same time. i invite you to sit back and enjoy!
after the day of watching this video i have been experiencing deja vu as if there is no end. granted that yes i admit it... i am an indie music junkie, but after grabbing my morning tea and heading to work i heard the song on the radio from the piece, "her morning elegance" by oren lavie. i hadn't heard the song before...ever in fact!!! and usually if i'm not listening to my ipod, then 99.1 is playing, and everytime i turned my car on the song was playing. then it got me thinking of the video.... the character's hair, her skin tone...everything about her reminded me of model
kelsey that i photographed back in april 2008.
anyways, the piece, the song and the story are amazingly beautiful! so enjoy and happy sunday.
